What’s on during National Apprenticeship Week?

National Apprenticeship Week is taking place from 10-16 February 2025. Anyone aged 16 or over who isn’t currently in education can apply for an apprenticeship, so if you or someone you know is looking to kickstart a career, there’s no better time to start exploring. Here’s a list of events taking place this National Apprenticeship Week to get you thinking about next steps. 

 

Mid and South Essex Health and Care Academy: Healthcare Sector STEAM and Creative Technology Careers Roadshow 

This roadshow is aimed at students in years 9-13 who might be interested in a career in the healthcare sector. It’ll include interactive career stations and demonstrations so students can get some hands-on experience. 

 

We Rise: Get Sorted, Canvey Island 

Organised by youth support movement We Rise, this event is aimed at young people aged between 16 and 25. You'll be able to connect with employers and training providers, find out about different qualifications, get careers advice, and find support on applying for jobs.

Careers in Connectivity online event 

At this online event, you’ll hear from BT Group, Vodafone, Virgin Media, O2, and their apprentices. They’ll be talking about the telecoms/connectivity sector and discuss the full range of apprenticeship options available within these organisations, from level 2 to 7.

We Rise: Get Sorted, Harlow 

The event taking place in Canvey Island on Tuesday 11 will also take place in Harlow. You’ll be able to get support on finding and applying for the right employment, course, or apprenticeship while meeting employers and training providers.

Essex Apprenticeship Hub: Searching for an apprenticeship webinar  

The Apprenticeship Hub is a valuable resource for school leavers in Essex who are interested in starting an apprenticeship. This webinar will give you an introduction to searching for the right apprenticeship for you. 

 

Colchester Institute: Apprenticeship Insight Event 

The CI’s Director of Apprenticeships and Business Solutions will kick off the evening with an introduction before you’ll have the opportunity to talk with employers, current apprentices, and expert trainers and assessors. This event is taking place at the CIs Colchester campus, where parking will be free for the evening.

UK Power Networks: Apprenticeship Virtual Insight Session 

In collaboration with Essex County Council, UK Power Networks will be hosting a virtual event to introduce you to their apprenticeship programme. You’ll also gain valuable tips for assessment centres and participate in a live Q&A session with current apprentices.
