Employment skills

We provide advice and support if you’d like to develop your skills for work or if you’re trying to find a job.

Come along to one of our housing and employment support drop-ins on Thursdays between 9am-1pm at the Parkside Community Hub (CM1 2DX). Members of Chelmsford City Council will be on hand to help with CV writing, interview preparation, and more. You can also get help with filling out application forms from Peabody on Mondays, also at the Hub – these sessions are appointment only, call 0800 288 8883 to book.

Training

We work closely with partner organisations such as Adult Community Learning (ACL) to offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses. These are available to customers over the age of 19.

If you're interested in taking an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course, please visit the ACL website to arrange an assessment. We have an intermediate class at the Hub from 9.30am-12.30pm and a beginner class from 1pm-3pm on Wednesdays.

Check out our What's on page for ad hoc courses that we organise. These include training for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) in partnership with Clarion Housing which enables you to work on a construction site.

If you’d like help with employment skills or training, please email community@chp.org.uk or call us on 0300 555 0500. (Text relay: 18001 0300 555 0500).
