Our Board has appointed Paul Edwards as our new Chief Executive.

Paul joined the company in 2016 and has been our Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer since January 2019. He starts his new role with immediate effect, replacing outgoing Chief Executive Mary Gibbons who is leaving CHP to join Moat.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the housing sector. During his time at CHP he has been instrumental in maintaining our ‘A-’ credit rating from Standard & Poors and G1 grading for governance from the Regulator for Social Housing. Last year he oversaw the issuing of a bond tap which raised £69m to support the delivery of affordable homes across the eastern region.

Chair of the Board, Nicola Sawford, commented: “The Board is delighted to appoint Paul Edwards as our new Chief Executive. Paul’s extensive knowledge, experience and track record of delivering excellent results made him the obvious choice to lead CHP into its next stage. Paul is the perfect person to take on this important role and ensure we deliver for our customers. We continue to be committed to provide more quality affordable homes and great service across our region. The Board would like to thank Mary for the enormous contribution she has made to CHP during her time with us and wish her every success in her new role.”

New Chief Executive Paul Edwards said: “I am honoured to become CHP’s new Chief Executive. This is an exciting and important time for the organisation as we finalise our new Corporate Strategy. My passion is to make a positive impact on our customers’ lives. I am proud to be able to do this in my home-town with a team of colleagues I know are incredibly dedicated to making CHP the best it can be.”
