We’re delighted with assessment result from Regulator of Social Housing
We have been awarded a G1 for governance and V2 for financial viability, following an in-depth assessment (IDA) from the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH).
These assessments are usually carried out every four years and look in detail at how a housing provider manages and governs its business, including its approach to providing value for money.
In awarding us the highest possible G1 grading the RSH recognises that we are well governed and in a strong position to continue delivering on our corporate objectives.
The re-grading to V2 recognises that we have sound financial plans in place to deliver our business plan. It takes into account that we have an ambitious development programme to help meet housing need in the region and that we have set aside funds to invest in energy efficiency improvements as part of our strategy to become carbon Net Zero.
We are pleased that our commitment to meet the continued demand for good quality homes and to continue to invest in our existing homes is reflected in this rating. We plan to build around 1,190 new homes for affordable rent and shared ownership across the eastern region between 2022 and 2024 to add to the 10,500 we currently own and manage.
Mary Gibbons, Chief Executive said: “These ratings are a brilliant endorsement of all the hard work we put in to ensure we are well governed and financially secure. This has been a challenging period for all housing associations but, as the rating shows, we’re in a great position to provide more quality affordable homes and great services for our customers.
“We believe it’s right to have bold plans for the future, and that in the current climate it’s never been more important to address the shortfall in housing across our region. We also know the importance of investing in our existing housing stock, ensuring that all of our homes are as safe and sustainable as they can be. We’ll continue to do that wisely so we can meet our goal of providing great quality affordable homes that people feel proud to live in.”
