Are you missing out on cheap broadband?

According to communications regulator Ofcom, more than half of low-income households are missing out on broadband deals that could save them around £200 a year.

Known as ‘social tariffs’ the deals are available to around 4.3 million households on benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Jobseeker's Allowance, and Income Support.

Ofcom’s research showed that only 220,000 (5.1 percent) of eligible households are signed up to these tariffs, which could cut the annual cost of their broadband in half.

The social tariffs are more affordable, usually between £10 and £20 a month, and are often on shorter-term contracts. There are also no early exit fees, so you’re not tied to the contract if your situation changes, and you can leave without paying a penalty.

There are many providers that offer social tariffs including Sky, Virgin Media, BT, EE and Vodafone. Click on the links to find out more information about the deals, eligibility, and how to switch.
