As 2021 draws to a close, we asked our Executive Management Team to look back at their CHP and personal highlights from the last year. Here’s what they told us.

Mary Gibbons, Chief Executive

CHP highlights - Being shortlisted for Employer of the Year at the Housing Heroes Awards, becoming Chair of BuildEast and being awarded a G1 for governance and V2 for financial viability, following an in-depth assessment (IDA) from the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH).

Personal highlight – Running the London Marathon.

Paul Edwards, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer

CHP highlight - Successfully raising £69m by issuing a bond tap to support the next phase of our growth

Personal highlights - Getting back to seeing some great live music and England beating South Africa at Twickenham!

Carl Hockey, Growth and Partnerships Director

CHP highlight - Being able to carry on delivering a high number of great new affordable homes and reaching our sales targets thanks to a dedicated and resourceful team and great partners.

Personal highlight - Being able to see more of my family and friends and walk a bit more of the Cornish coast.

Naomi Cohen, Communications, Policy and Engagement Director

CHP highlights – Launching our new website and receiving positive feedback and thanks from some of our key stakeholders.

Personal highlights - Theatres, art galleries and live music venues opening again and being able to enjoy them safely with family, friends and Guy Garvey!

Simon Hague, Interim Director of Customer Service

CHP highlights – Continuing to support our customers and employees through the pandemic. Implementing our new Customer Engagement Strategy and as part of that recruiting our excellent Customer Review Panel.

Personal highlights - Beating my rheumatoid arthritis and climbing a mountain in the Lake District.

Rachel Hadley, People and Culture Director

CHP highlights – Joining the frontline teams on ‘walkabouts’ in our communities, seeing their work first-hand. Collaborating with employees across a range of subjects, including wellbeing, health and safety and diversity and inclusion.

Personal highlights - The end of lockdown home learning, theatre trips, hitting my geocaching goals (over 750 finds to date!), getting fit and lean after an inactive 2020, and seeing friends and family.
